Dress Code Policy
Southern University expects its faculty, students, and staff to uphold a professional and positive image of the university in their dress and attire at all times. All are expected to come to the university wearing clean, decent dress and be presentable to others for maintaining a congenial atmosphere.
The Following Items Are NOT Permitted:
- Face mask or hood of any kind that conceals identity
- Shorts of any kind, including three-quarters
- Mini or midi skirts
- Bathroom slippers (except for cleaning staff)
- Clothes with offensive slogans, pictures, or signs
- Visible body exposure (midriff, cleavage, etc.)
- Sleeveless and tight-fitting clothes
Note: This policy does not restrict any Department or Institute from prescribing additional dress requirements as per academic or professional needs.
